This Cookie Policy explains how we use cookies and similar technologies (SDKs, pixels, device IDs) on the GLEEN website and app. It works together with our Privacy Policy.

1) What are cookies & similar tech?

• Cookies are small files placed on your browser to remember settings and measure usage.
  
   
• SDKs/device IDs (in the app) help with crash fixes, analytics, notifications, and performance.

2) Why we use them

• Strictly necessary – security, login/session, load balancing, fraud prevention.
  
   
• Functionality – remember preferences (e.g., language).
  
   
• Analytics – understand what features are used so we can improve.
  
   
• Marketing/attribution – measure campaigns and app installs (no third-party ads shown to students).

3) Your choices

When you first visit, you’ll see a banner where you can:

• Reject non-essential (we still set strictly necessary cookies); or
  
   
• Manage preferences by category.

You can change your choice anytime via Cookie Settings in the footer (web) or Settings → Privacy (app). Blocking non-essential cookies won’t break study features, but some insights may be less accurate.

4) Cookies we set (examples)

• Necessary: session ID, CSRF token, load-balancer cookie. (Duration: session–12 months)
  
   
• Functionality: language/theme. (Duration: up to 12 months)
  
   
• Analytics: app/web analytics SDK, crash reporter, performance metrics. (Duration: 1-24 months)
  
   
• Marketing/attribution: install attribution SDK, campaign measurement. (Duration: 1-6 months)

A current list of providers is kept in Cookie Settings and may change as we improve GLEEN.

5) Third parties & transfers

Some analytics/SDK vendors process data outside Nigeria. We use NDPA-compliant safeguards and contracts with those vendors. See our Privacy Policy for details.

6) How to control cookies outside GLEEN

• Browser: clear or block cookies in your settings.
  
   
• Mobile: reset Advertising ID and limit ad tracking in device settings.
  Blocking strictly necessary cookies may stop you from signing in.

7) Changes

We may update this policy. When changes are material, we’ll notify you via the site/app and update the date above.
